What we've learned.
What buyers in this vertical consistently get wrong — and what we have actually seen in production.
Observation · 01
BOH tees on a hot line last about 4 months in industrial washing. Cotton below 5.5oz falls apart.
Observation · 02
Performance fabric beats pique for daily-wash FOH — pique stains within a shift on a guest-facing crew.
Observation · 03
Embroidery on BOH kitchen polos is the wrong call. Thread catches grease and holds odor after extended washing. DTF is better even though it looks less premium.

BOH tees & aprons
Back-of-house gear takes a beating — grease, heat, bleach. We default to heavyweight cotton tees and canvas or cross-back aprons that hold up through hundreds of washes. DTF (Direct-to-Film) prints stay sharp even after a year on the line.
- Heavyweight 6oz+ cotton tees
- Canvas, denim, and cross-back aprons
- DTF prints rated for industrial wash cycles

Branded hats for hosts, servers, line cooks, and the food truck. Embroidery for the dressed-up look, DTF for full-color art. We stock five-panel, trucker, dad hat, and beanie blanks.

How OTIA handles a restaurant rollout
We've onboarded restaurants from single locations to 12-unit groups. The pattern is the same: lock the staff uniform blank in week one, embroider a small batch for fit testing, then load a private reorder page for your managers so they can size up new hires without calling us.
- Week 1: blank selection + logo digitization
- Week 2: fit samples shipped to your GM
- Week 3+: private reorder portal for managers
- Optional: monthly auto-replenish on high-turnover sizes
FAQ
Frequently asked.
Short answers to the questions buyers in this industry ask first.
Do you do embroidery on chef coats or hospitality polos?+
Yes. Embroidery is our default for FOH polos, chef coats, and any garment where a clean, raised logo matters. Digitizing a new logo is a one-time setup we handle in-house, usually same-day.
DTF vs embroidery — which should we use?+
Embroidery for FOH staff and anything customer-facing where polish matters. DTF (Direct-to-Film) for BOH tees, full-color art, photos, or anything with gradients. DTF is also cheaper for small-quantity runs and holds up better than screen print on heavyweight cotton.
What sizes do you carry?+
XS through 6XL across most categories. Tall sizes available on select polos and tees. We keep size charts on every product page and can ship a fit kit before you place a full order.
Can managers reorder without our approval every time?+
Yes — we set up a private reorder page tied to your account. Managers pick the SKU, color, size, and quantity, and we bill the corporate card on file. You see every order in your OTIA dashboard.
How fast can you ship a rush order?+
Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days. Rush options are 48hr or 72hr on most stocked blanks. New-hire onboarding kits typically ship same-week.
